Thomson Use Camera Tech to Freeze Time in Latest Ad, ‘Moments’

This heart warming ad has us following a young girl through moments of her holiday, which are frozen in time. This camera technique, which the production company call “Timetrack” involves using multiple cameras on a track to capture one moment from slightly different perspectives. It’s also known as “timesplicing” or “bullet time” (remember when Neo froze those bullets in the Matrix?) and when you play the images together it looks as if you’re moving through a single moment in time. The scenes that work particularly well here involve things that move to quick for the naked eye to process, such as moving water and birds in flight.
